Lockdown Landscapes
In partnership with The National Memorial Arboretum and The National Forest Company. Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The Lockdown Landscapes project was an opportunity to explore the way people engaged with their local greenspaces during the covid pandemic. Throughout the darkest moments of the pandemic, people found solace and joy in their local public parks, historic gardens and natural landscapes, engaging with outdoor places in new ways. For this exhibition, Project Coordinator, Gulsoom Aslam and artists Anna Horton Cremin, Natalie Linney, Rebecca Lee and Dawn Jutton worked alongside Creative Café, who meet weekly at The Brewhouse, running workshops in woodlands and washlands in the local area. The sessions explored the importance of outdoor spaces for our wellbeing, encouraging us all to see the value of our local heritage landscapes, which inspired the pieces and artworks displayed within this exhibition.
