Adult Art Class
A 6-week adult art class introducing the principal of drawing using pencils, pens, pastels and paints. The ideal start for learning the foundations of art. Tutor-guided sessions will look to build confidence and skill in each medium. A warm and friendly environment creating a perfect atmosphere for the beginner.
Spring course
- 26/02/2025 – Drawing from the Pre-Raphaelites. Learn about the lesser known female Pre-Raphaelites. Using this art movement as reference create pencil drawings layered coloured pencil to recreate this style.
- 05/03/2025 – Oil Pastel Landscapes. Bright and bold landscapes inspired by the artist Gabrielle Munter.
- 12/03/2025 – Mixed Media Illustration. Inspired by the heart warming illustrations of Shirley Huges, you will use gouache, oil pastels and pencils to create your own art works.
- 19/03/2025 – Abstract Art, Symbolism and Geometric shapes. Use watercolour and collage to create art pieces inspired by the artist Hilma af Klimt.
- 26/03/2025 – Painting skies. Loose quick sky paintings using watercolour and the techniques of artist JMW Turner.
- 02/04/2025 – Alice in Wonderland Pen and Ink. Draw from Alice in Wonderland illustrations and explore the works of Dali’s interpretations to produce ink wash paintings.
Summer Course
- 04/06/25 – Chalk and Charcoal. Floral still life and referencing from Georgia O’Keeffe’s charcoal works.
- 11/06/25 – Drawing Shells. Use Graphite and coloured pencils to explore the natural forms from sea shells.
- 18/06/25 – Watercolour Butterflies. Mastering the medium and learning to layer the medium and add fine detail.
- 25/06/25 – Chinoiserie Art. Using gouache paint to produce decorative paintings in this style.
- 02/07/25 – Acrylic and Oil Pastel Floral Still Life – Using mixed media techniques to paint bright and bold floral still life pictures.
- 09/07/25 – Explore the wonderful art of Brian Wildsmith. Create paintings inspired by this artist’s technique and use mixed media to produce textures.
