From laugh-out-loud comedy and legendary live music to gripping theatre, magical family adventures and festive favourites, The Brewhouse Arts Centre has unveiled a packed Autumn/Winter programme featuring more than 40 performances from August through to Christmas.
Bringing together nationally acclaimed performers, much-loved returning favourites and homegrown talent, the season highlights The Brewhouse’s commitment to bringing outstanding arts and entertainment to East Staffordshire, with something for every age and interest.
Big names, brilliant nights
This season welcomes some of the biggest names in comedy, music and live entertainment to The Brewhouse. Whether it’s laughing with Milton Jones, Seann Walsh, Mark Watson and Rich Hall, spending an evening with Shaun Ryder or Simon Yates, or experiencing the extraordinary talents of Psychic Sally, Alex McAleer and Bagga Chipz MBE, there’s something for every taste.
The soundtrack to autumn
From championing Burton’s own music scene to welcoming celebrated touring artists, the season offers something for every music fan. Alongside hosting an official Sonic Boom Festival Aftershock gig and performances from Riding the Low, The Guitar Experience and Chris Gumbley’s Cannonball Quintet, audiences can also enjoy legendary folk pioneers Fairport Convention, The D-Day Darlings and spectacular tribute shows celebrating David Bowie, ABBA and Pink Floyd.
Then, as Christmas draws near, the spotlight turns to festive entertainment with Des Coleman’s Rat Pack Reprise, Neil Sands’ Christmas Memories and Word Up, an electrifying celebration of the biggest hits of the 1980s, making the Brewhouse the perfect place for a Christmas night out.
Stories that stay with you
Powerful, thought-provoking and hauntingly memorable, this season’s theatre programme brings unforgettable stories to the stage. Highlights include John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, Rumpus Theatre’s The Haunted Bride, Scarred For Life: A Midsummer Folk Horror Special, and a special screening of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari with live musical accompaniment.
Family favourites, home-grown talent, and festive magic
There’s something for every family this season with The Ultimate Bubble Show, Wind in the Willows and this year’s enchanting Christmas production, Robyn & the Book Monster. Created by Babbling Vagabonds, the festive show combines puppetry, shadow play and playful storytelling in a heartwarming celebration of books, bravery and imagination.
While nationally recognised performers feature throughout the season, The Brewhouse is equally excited to welcome local theatre companies, dance schools and community groups to its stage. Their productions are a valued part of the programme, giving performers of all ages the opportunity to entertain local audiences and bringing communities together through the arts.
Cllr Paul Walker, Tourism and Cultural Development said:
“Every season is an opportunity to bring people together through live performance, and this season really reflects everything The Brewhouse stands for. We’re proud to champion the talented artists, local performers and festivals that make Burton’s cultural scene so vibrant.
Whether you’re joining us for a magical family outing, a memorable concert, a night of laughter with friends or to discover something completely new, we can’t wait to welcome audiences through our doors.”
