Pin Cushion (15)
Pin Cushion feature film followed by a Q&A with writer/director Deborah Haywood and drinks by Marston’s Brewery
Pin Cushion is being screened for the first time in Burton and is a feature film from Swadlincote-born writer and director Deborah Haywood.
Super close mother Lyn and daughter Iona are excited for their new life in a new town. Determined to make a success of things after a tricky start, Iona becomes 'best friends' with three girls from school but Lyn feels left out. Iona struggles when the girls act more like frenemies than friends, and Lyn struggles to make her own friends. Both Mother and Daughter retreat into fantasy and lies.
Deborah Haywood has been a patron of Beer Town Film Festival since it began and was inspired to take up writing after attending a course at Burton and South Derbyshire College. She has won numerous awards for her films but Pin Cushion has been her most successful release to date. Deborah will attend the film and will take part in a Q&A session after the film.
