Black History Month - Unsound

Black History Month - Unsound

Black History Month in the UK takes place in October and aims to highlight, celebrate and promote Black Contributions to British Society as well as to promote general knowledge of Black History. This programme through film seeks to encourage community-wide dialogue around matters such as mental health, immigration and identity through films made by Black filmmakers. Each night will be followed by a discussion in which audience members and a panel can explore these themes in conversation.

Join Darious Britt on this semi-autobiographical and entirely self-funded exploration of the journey of an ambitious, young filmmaker who must battle his mother's mental illness and his own worst fears to save her from herself and reclaim his life. This screening will be followed by a discussion with a panel of mental health professionals as well as members of various charities and community groups that come face to face with the realities of mental health everyday as part of World Mental Health day.
