Young Dancers Callout
Do you love to dance?
Do you have some basic dance experience? (this could be anything from attending a lunchtime session at school or being part of a dance school) Are you aged 14-25?
Do you live within East Staffordshire or the surrounding areas?
Are you interested in working with dancers of all abilities?
Are you available between April - June this year?
Want to meet other dancers from all over the West Midlands?
Happy to work online (virtually/digitally) for part of the project?
We are looking for young people to join a brand new integrated dance group of disabled and non-disabled dancers to take part in a huge region wide creative process and performance as part of Birmingham International Dance Festival 2021 (BIDF).
This performance will be created as part of the Beyond Borders project, produced by DanceXchange on behalf of the West Midlands Dance Development Leaders Group (DDLG) in partnership with Arts Connect. Beyond Borders brings together 12 dance artists, their dance groups and 12 aspiring young leaders to work closely with an Artistic Director and Digital Artists to create a unique, innovative, outdoor dance performance for BIDF.
Initially sessions will take place on Zoom but hopefully, Covid dependant, we will also be able to meet in person. There is additional support for those with additional needs, so please talk to us about how we can support you to get involved.
There is also potential for further dance opportunities in the future.
To register your interest please click book now below. You will then be contacted by Dance Tutor, Catherine Clissett, who will send you further information about the project, the new dance group, the performance and can answer any questions you may have.
The deadline for applications is the 16th April 2021
