Fragments is an exhibition of ceramics, mixed-media, 3D, paint, textile and lens-based media by seven artists: Jeanette Fanthome; Heather Hancock; Hazel Higham; Joyce Iwaszko; Ruth Rowland; Sara Penny; Sharon Porteous. Fragments will provide an exciting opportunity to see the work of 7 contrasting artists in a group exhibition. Working in diverse media, the group has come together to react to the ambiguous theme: ‘fragments’ - a topic that inspires meaning, whilst prompting an individual, artistic response. The artists have spent years in the creative industry and as a consequence, the group exhibition promises to be a thought-provoking experience. #7 was formed over two years’ ago with the group showing their work locally, although some of the artists have exhibited nationally and internationally. Evident in the work on display at The Brewhouse Arts Centre is a highly developed use of visual language, which originates from different strands within art practice.
